Burnt Island at Mono…

This Sunday night (7/3) Burnt Island are launching their new mini-album Music and Maths at Glasgow’s Mono. If you like a little James Yorkston, a little Trembling Bells and a little Nick Drake then you’re going to like all of Burnt Island. Capturing the current trend for all things folky, but making music that sounds out of time, they are band who will make perfect sense on a Sunday night. A great way to wind down the weekend.

If you want to know more about them, and to listen to some of their music, then head over to their MySpace page . Songwriter and singer Rodge Glass describes their music as ‘3am music, like someone is sitting on your shoulder whispering sour nothings into your ear…’ and that’s a better description than I could muster. To read an interview with Rodge go to .

On Sunday they are ably supported by Aiden Moffat and Second Hand Marching Band, so it promises to be a grand evening. Perhaps I’ll see you there…
